February is the month of love. The stores are filled with pink hearts, chocolate boxes, and grand gestures of affection. But if you are expecting a baby this month (or just welcomed one!), you know that the truest form of “love at first sight” isn’t found in a greeting card—it’s the moment you finally hold your little one in your arms.
At Chieu Lee Photography, I love leaning into the sweetness of the season. However, my number one priority isn’t just making the photo look cute—it is keeping your baby 100% safe while we do it.
Whether you are looking for a Valentine-themed session or timeless portraits, here is a look at how we create those dreamy images safely.
Styling for February: Sweet, Not Cheesy
You don’t have to dress your baby in a Cupid costume to nod to the season (unless you want to!). For February babies, I love using subtle touches that feel timeless:
Color Palettes: Soft creams mixed with dusty rose, mauve, or even a deep, rich burgundy.
Textures: Chunky knit heart props or soft wool layers.
The “Heart” Pose: Positioning the baby’s naked feet to create a natural heart shape—a detail shot that looks beautiful on a birth announcement.
When to Book Your Winter/Spring Session
If you are due in February, March, or April 2026, now is the time to get on the calendar. Because February is a shorter month, spots fill up quickly!
I recommend booking your session while you are still in your second trimester. This ensures we have time to plan your styling, discuss colors (pinks? neutrals? blues?), and secure your due date.
